
Emergency Services Chair Flo Hoylman passes along news of two upcoming local disaster preparedness classes in June:
- Southern Marin Fire Department, ReadyMarin and the Central Marin Fire Department are hosting a 20-hour, FEMA approved disaster response class on Saturday June 7 and Saturday June 14. The CERT Basic Training Class will cover basics of disaster response and hands-on skills, including fire extinguisher use, how to safely move and care for the injured, and first aid. The class is free and open to everyone over the age of 14. Learn more and register online.
- Neighborhood Response Group (NRG) is hosting a 60-minute orientation at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16 on Zoom. The orientation will cover how to organize and support your neighborhood before, during and after emergencies and disasters. This orientation will also give you the information to connect with Southern Marin Fire Department personnel to learn how you can start making an impact. Register and learn more online.
